Well I thought I should finally write about the birth of our new little girl Kate Emily. She was born at 3:10 in the morning on May 24th. I started having small, kinda back pain kind of contractions on Friday morning, and I thought for sure she would arrive bulls eye on her due date the 23rd! Well, I got up and started the day just like any old day, but I new something was up so I called Chad around 10 AM and told him I thought she would be coming today! So, he got home at about 1:30, and brought his cousin Wade, who was visiting from South Carolina. We hung out, ate, watched Anchorman, so it was nice to be at home. The contractions were getting worse, I went and laid in the bathtub for about an hour around 6:30, and my sister in law and niece arrived (they were staying with Lucy over night.) Anyways, by about 11 I was pretty much ready to go to the hospital, but our timing of the contractions didn't seem like we needed to (they were like 5-8 min apart,) but I made Chad call my doctor anyways! She said to come on in, so we got to the hospital a little after midnight. We got up to the room, I got checked, and to our surprise I was between 6-7 centimeters! I had an awesome nurse, and my mother in law, Wade, and of course Chad were there. Don't worry, I made Wade leave when I got checked and for the pushing part! Chad was such a good coach, he rubbed my back during each contraction, let me squeeze his hand, and screamed in his ear the whole time! (He was so tired, he worked over time all week, and hadn't had a day off in 2 weeks!) Oh, a tip for future moms, the big bouncy ball is great for getting through contractions, well it worked well for me any who! I decided to do this all with no pain medications, I had an epidural with Lucy, so this was a whole different ballgame! It was CRAZY painful, I screamed so loud, I didn't think I could do it, but it was definitely worth all the pain! She was so beautiful, and I was relieved everything was ok with her. She weighed 7 lbs 5 ozs, and was 20 in long. We were surprised, Lucy was 8 lbs 2 ozs, so we were expecting Kate to be bigger! A plus for me was her head was smaller than Lucys! So, There it is, Kate's birth story!

Yay!! Good job! I am happy to hear that everything turned out wonderfully(except for the pain, which is never wonderful). Your baby girl is beautiful, of course. I am sure you are glad to finally not be pregnant. I hope you are healing up well and feeling well.
Way to go. I am not sure why but it seems that much more of an accomplishment when you don't have an epidural and can really feel it all. We'll see how I do someday.
Way to go naturally! I'm glad you went for it :) Thanks for sharing your story and I can't wait to see her and you again in August!
Awesome :) So glad you posted all that! Natural does hurt, but so worth it!! At least she was smaller. Congrats :)
